So! There are like... two, three people who read this old thing.

Regardless!

I'm hopping onto this 30 days of Disney meme, as stolen from Nora who stole it from Peacewish.

(Better late than never, eh?)

clicky for days 1 thru 4 )

Why can't this weekend be next weekend so i can have monday off??

But, that's alright. Today is the munchkin's birthday party. There will be adult beverages for the adults. So we can stand to watch screaming, wild children as they play about the yard.

Also?

Why did I forget how effing AWESOME In the Name of the King is??? I freaking LOVE this movie. Jason Statham, of course. But Matthew Lillard! As a whiny, really-badly-acted bad guy! And BURT FREAKING REYNOLDS! Holy CRAP. Who did they kill to get these people to act in this movie?

Seriously!

This movie cracks me up. Especially when it's revealed that Jason Statham (Farmer) is Burt Reynold's son.

...and now I'm hungry.

I suppose it's time for breakfast.

so, today is the day. david is moving into his own place.

got the truck. going to help with the big stuff shortly.

and then, if the weather permits, BLUE OCTOBER TONIGHT!!!

Hopefully we won't be rained out. I've been looking forward to this concert for weeks now.

but yeah. in other news. David's grandmother passed away last night. She's being cremated today. And he's flying out to New York tomorrow morning at 5am. Because, in her last will and testament, she stated she wants her ashes to be thrown off the Brooklyn Bridge.

Badass.

And the family has nominated David to do this. Since he's not afraid of getting arrested.

Cause it's illegal to throw things off the bridge.

so he'll be gone till Tuesday.

-_- It's been a crappy couple of days for him.

Oh well. Off to help move, now.

Stupid suburn.

But, it was well worth it. Buzzfest was pretty damn awesome.

Jared Leto is ... indescribably awesome. The hot pink mohawk and 80's clothes were a bit disconcerting at first, but then it was just awesome.

Especially his escape into the crowd.

And then calling a whole bunch of people up on stage.

If only it'd been me and Nora up there.

Then my life would be complete.

Still. They only performed like four, maybe five, songs. And they had an hour set. So that was just badass.

Switchfoot was awesome, as always. The lead singer also escaped into the crowd (but he does that alot).

Seether was surprisingly rocking. I definitely enjoyed them.

And OMG DEFTONES! Like, holy crap. That was just... so... cool. Change, in the House of Flies live? Like nothing else.

So... yeah. Pretty awesome day. Totally worth the suburn.

^_^

Yes, really, Sean Patrick Flanery! Don't look so skeptical.

Yes. Life can be awesome.

Like, when your ex, who was one of the best friends you've ever had, texts you cause he realized that he made the biggest mistake of his life marrying that skanky whore. And he knows he doesn't deserve a chance to even be your friend again, but he asks for one anyways.

And then he makes the skanky whore sign the divorce papers. And tells her off for being a skanky whore.

So yeah.

Life is awesome.

Cause I got my other best friend back, now. And fun and shenanigans will be had by all.

Also? BUZZFEST TOMORROW! YAY!!

^_^

And Blue October in two weeks.

Life is good.

Stolen from [info]astridrai.

You can learn a lot about someone from the music they listen to. Here's the game: hit shuffle on your music player, and write down the first 25 songs that come up. No cheating or skipping songs, no matter how embarrassing.

2. Romance Flute, Ben Mink (SyFy's Alice Soundtrack).
3. Take Back the City, Snow Patrol
4. Chameleon Boy, Blue October

6. Closing Time, Semisonic
7. Suite From Hush, Joss Whedon, BTVS soundtrack

Stolen from [info]astridrai, who stole it from [info]peacewish. Post the first sentence of all your favorite fics and see if there's a pattern.

She didn’t sleep as much as she had used to anymore, almost like the universe was spiting her, taking away her last reprieve from time. Lines, by FaithUnbreakable (Buffy/Torchwood).

The Aesir stood gathered in the great courtyard before their king’s mead-hall, summoned to stand witness as one of their number faced the All-father’s judgment. An Echo of Thunder, by anotherlostsoul (Buffy/Smallville).

The women's voices carried clearly through the dank night air as I trailed them down the street, next best thing to invisible under careful layers of magic. Worth the Effort, by jedibuttercup (Castle/Dresden Files).

I took a couple of pictures of the broken sign, from a couple of angles. Martian Manhunter, by Mediancat (Buffy/Veronica Mars).

The bell on the front door rang, and Harry glanced up from his work bench in the lab. Harry's Key, by Shezzi (Buffy/Dresden Files).

Having the best time of your life upright with your clothes on could be exactly like the best time of your life sideways with your clothes off, Abby Sciuto thought. Pigtails and Tweed, by Samarkand (Buffy/NCIS).

Bob raised a critical eyebrow as he peered down into the simmering pot of soup. "I've been wondering." Best Laid Plains, by Gatekeeper (Dresden Files).

Tony Stark, a cleaned pressed, presentable CEO and super genius, walked in through the lobby doors of Wayne Enterprises, holding a recent edition of Esquire under one arm and his keys in the other. From Three to Five, by littlemoore (Iron Man/Batman Begins).

Tony Stark never thought Bruce Wayne was anything more than an idiot. Never Thought, by jane potter (Iron Man/Batman Begins).

There are lots more... but yeah. I should probably stop now.

And, the only pattern I see? Lots of crossovers. ^_^ I likes me my crossovers.

so! christmas.

that went well.

Not a half bad time...

Of course, as usual, I had way more fun at the Langley Christmas than I did with my own family. And, of course, the Langley's feel more like family than my own.

But that's cause they rock.

So we saw Sherlock Holmes last night.

It rocked. So. Hard.

I must see it again.

I also finally got a chance to watch the SyFy mini-series for Alice. And I am SO IN LOVE with Hatter! He was the best character, and Andrew Lee Potts was the best actor in the whole damn thing.

But my DVR hates me, and cut off the last like... three minutes. So now I have to steal it from Nora... since it doesn't come out on DVD until March. ;_; So sad!

So yeah.

It's been fun.
